Projectors at ELC

THIS ARTICLE IS ONLY INTENDED FOR USE BY EMPLOYEES OF THE CAPITAL AREA INTERMEDIATE UNIT.

In order to display things on your projectors you'll only need to hook them up to your laptop and make sure the projector is on the right input.  In each of the classrooms there is a panel to plug in wiring.

You will also have a cord that has VGA and Audio on one end and an HDMI on the other.  You will plug the HDMI and Audio into the jacks labelled "Computer" and "Audio" on that panel and the HDMI end into your laptop.

By default the projectors are all set to the right size, zoom level, balance and on the computer input so it SHOULD automatically connect to the projector and display as long as you have the projector powered on.  The sound will also come out of the projector rather than the laptop speakers.

If for some reason you have the projector on and the cord hooked up but there's no image, make sure the projector says it's on the Computer input.  If it's not, press the input button on the remote until you see it.  If you want to change if the projector is displaying the same thing as your laptop or if it acts as a secondary independent display, you will adjust that from your laptop.  Press the windows key (near the space bar) and the P key.  This will pop up options on the side of the screen for "Duplicate" "Extend" etc.  Duplicate will make the projector show the same thing as your laptop, Extend will make it act separately and you will have to click and drag things from your laptop screen over to the projector.

When done using the projector, be sure to power it off with the remote.
